The Institute for Future Studies is an independent public research foundation. The basic funding of the Institute comes from the state budget but we also receive external grants from public and private financiers. The Institute’s mission is to pursue futures studies, long-term analyses and related activities on its own or in collaboration with others. The purpose is to encourage an open, broad-based public debate both on future threats and opportunities. This work is based on well-documented, scientific studies. The results are presented to a wide audience via our magazine, Framtider, our website and our half-day conferences. The Institute also works with seminars, lectures, articles and interviews targeting both the general public and experts and opinion-makers.
