PLOS

PLOS is a nonprofit, Open Access publisher empowering researchers to accelerate progress in science and medicine by leading a transformation in research communication. Our twelve journals publish peer-reviewed research across all of science. All PLOS journals adhere to the highest standards of rigorous peer review and research ethics and everything we publish is Open Access, Plan S compliant and Open Data compliant. Our press program: We distribute over 400 press releases annually, and PLOS research is covered by the highest profile global news outlets. All registered reporters are eligible to access our embargoed press releases - see more at https://plos.org/media/embargo-policy/ or get in touch at press@plos.org Our history: We’ve been breaking boundaries since 2001, and we propelled the movement for OA alternatives to subscription journals. We established the first multi-disciplinary publication inclusive of all research regardless of novelty or impact. And we demonstrated the importance of open data availability. Our goals: Break Boundaries: To advance research faster, share more broadly, and increase collaboration Empower Researchers: To transform science through inclusivity, choice, credit, and transparency Redefine Quality: To assess and communicate the full arc of research more fairly and accurately Open Science: To build a foundation of knowledge from which we all advance
