The University of Stavanger

The University of Stavanger (UiS) has an innovative and international profile and constitutes a driving force in the development of knowledge and change processes in society. Its societal mission is to challenge the well-known and explore the unknown. Priority areas are: Green transition, Energy, Health and welfare, Learning for life, An open university and A good learning and working environment. The University of Stavanger is a member of the European Consortium of Innovative Universities (ECIU). Academic activities are organized into seven faculties and the Museum of Archaeology. UiS enrols some 13 000 students and employs 2000 academic and administrative staff (2022).
