Abo Akademi University

Åbo Akademi University is a Swedish-speaking university in Finland, offering a wide range of educational options. We also conduct research in many fields, and our special focus areas are minority research, drug development and diagnostics, molecular process and material technology, and the sea. We have altogether 5,500 undergraduate students in our campus towns of Turku and Vaasa. We also have 780 postgraduate students. Each year, we award around 500 Master’s degrees and 75 Doctor’s degrees. Of our total of 1,100 employees, 650 work in teaching and research. Annual budget. Revenues for 2018 total 98.3 million euro, of which approx. 60% represent State funding. 1,400 scientific publications per year.
