The deadline for submitting applications to the 2026/2027 edition of the Bial Foundation’s
Grants Programme for Scientific Research in the fields of psychophysiology and parapsychology is approaching on 31 August. To encourage research focused on the healthy human being in its physical and spiritual dimensions, the Bial Foundation provides funding of up to
€60,000 per project, with the exact amount awarded determined by the Foundation according to the specific needs of each selected research project.
“As the application period draws to a close, we would like to reinforce our call for the submission of research projects. The active participation and engagement of the scientific community are essential to bringing this programme to life. It
promotes research excellence capable of advancing our understanding of the human mind and translating scientific discoveries into tangible benefits for society", said Luís Portela, Chairman of the Bial Foundation.
In addition to funding, the programme
offers supported projects international visibility and the opportunity to
join a global research network that already includes around 1,900 researchers from 31 countries. The grants programme also serves as a mark of excellence with a proven impact:
half of the scientific papers resulting from funded research have been published in leading international journals. By February 2026, the supported work had generated a total of 63,927 citations worldwide, with 806 publications cited more than 20 times.
