The SSTAR project is transforming energy distribution by delivering tangible
innovations that enhance the efficiency, flexibility, and sustainability of
power grids. Through advanced transformer design, eco-friendly insulation materials, and intelligent control systems, SSTAR strengthens both the performance and resilience of modern grids.
Key Achievements
- High-Voltage SST Prototype – Development of a Medium Frequency Ttransformer with superior voltage isolation and thermal management.
- Biobased Dielectric Fluids – Pilot-scale production of a biodegradable insulation fluid, fully validated to international standards, offering a safer, greener alternative to conventional transformer oils.
- Decentralized Converter Control – Implementation of an advanced and scalable grid converter, enabling scalability of the control for high voltage applications and balancing serialized converters.
These milestones represent a significant step forward in creating smarter and more sustainable energy infrastructures.
