Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B (APSB) was founded with the goal of creating a global high-level forum centred around drug discovery and pharmaceutical research/application. APSB was included by Chemical Abstracts in 2011, accepted by PubMed Central in 2015, indexed by Science Citation Index in 2017 and has evolved to become one of the most important international journals in the field of pharmaceutical sciences.
APSB is a monthly journal, in English, which publishes significant original research articles, rapid communications and high-quality reviews of recent advances in all areas of pharmaceutical sciences — including pharmacology, pharmaceutics, medicinal chemistry, natural products, pharmacognosy, pharmaceutical analysis and pharmacokinetics.
Articles of interest in this issue include:

A retrospective cohort study of the efficacy and safety of oral azvudine versus nirmatrelvir/ritonavir in elderly hospitalized COVID-19 patients aged over 60 years by Bo Yu, Haiyu Wang, Guangming Li and colleagues, (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.apsb.2024.12.032). This study used five analytical methods to show that azvudine has a therapeutic effect in elderly COVID-19 patients aged over 60 years.
Establishment of interpretable cytotoxicity prediction models using machine learning analysis of transcriptome features by You Wu, Ke Tang, Chunzheng Wang, Hao Song, Fanfan Zhou and Ying Guo, (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.apsb.2025.02.009). This study provides highly accurate models for 50% and 80% cell viability prediction and the key features which could facilitate the MOA study of substance with a narrow therapeutic index.
Parabacteroides distasonis promotes liver regeneration by increasing β-hydroxybutyric acid (BHB) production and BHB-driven STAT3 signals by Manlan Guo, Xiaowen Jiang, Hui Ouyang and colleagues, (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.apsb.2025.01.024). Parabacteroides distasonis promotes liver regeneration by increasing BHB production and BHB-driven STAT3 signals, which provides a relevant argument for using P. distasonis or BHB as a potential strategy for promoting hepatic regeneration after PHx or transplantation.

Testimonials

For well over a decade, in my capacity as a researcher, broadcaster, and producer, I have relied heavily on Alphagalileo.
All of my work trips have been planned around stories that I've found on this site.
The under embargo section allows us to plan ahead and the news releases enable us to find key experts.
Going through the tailored daily updates is the best way to start the day. It's such a critical service for me and many of my colleagues.
Koula Bouloukos, Senior manager, Editorial & Production Underknown
We have used AlphaGalileo since its foundation but frankly we need it more than ever now to ensure our research news is heard across Europe, Asia and North America. As one of the UK’s leading research universities we want to continue to work with other outstanding researchers in Europe. AlphaGalileo helps us to continue to bring our research story to them and the rest of the world.
Peter Dunn, Director of Press and Media Relations at the University of Warwick
AlphaGalileo has helped us more than double our reach at SciDev.Net. The service has enabled our journalists around the world to reach the mainstream media with articles about the impact of science on people in low- and middle-income countries, leading to big increases in the number of SciDev.Net articles that have been republished.
