Cameroun : Mystère sur les cas de Mpox signalés dans la ville de Douala

[DOUALA, SciDev.Net] Selon un communiqué signé de Manaouda Malachie, le ministre de la Santé publique du Cameroun, daté du 13 janvier 2026, cinq cas de Mpox ont été identifiés dans le pays entre le 14 novembre 2025 et le 7 janvier 2026.

Ce document précise que quatre des cas ont été notifiés dans la région du Littoral, notamment dans les districts de santé de Abo (1 cas), cité des palmiers (1) et Deido (2). Le dernier se trouvant dans le district de santé d’Akwaya, région du Sud-Ouest.

A en croire cette même source, ces nouveaux cas portent à 114, le nombre de cas suspects signalés au Cameroun depuis le 1er janvier 2025, avec dix cas confirmés et aucun décès.
