Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B (APSB) was founded with the goal of creating a global high-level forum centred around drug discovery and pharmaceutical research/application. APSB was included by Chemical Abstracts in 2011, accepted by PubMed Central in 2015, indexed by Science Citation Index in 2017 and has evolved to become one of the most important international journals in the field of pharmaceutical sciences.
APSB is a monthly journal, in English, which publishes significant original research articles, rapid communications and high-quality reviews of recent advances in all areas of pharmaceutical sciences — including pharmacology, pharmaceutics, medicinal chemistry, natural products, pharmacognosy, pharmaceutical analysis and pharmacokinetics.
Articles of interest in this issue include:

Trends in intestinal aging: From underlying mechanisms to therapeutic strategies by Yajun Wang, Xueni Zhang, Mengli Qing and colleagues, (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.apsb.2025.05.011). Anti-intestinal aging can be used as an important strategy for reducing frailty and promoting longevity. This review summarizes the latest advances in the mechanisms and therapeutic strategies of intestinal aging.
Single-cell RNA sequencing reveals Shen-Bai-Jie-Du decoction retards colorectal tumorigenesis by regulating the TMEM131–TNF signaling pathway-mediated differentiation of immunosuppressive dendritic cells by Yuquan Tao, Yinuo Ma, Limei Gu and colleagues, (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.apsb.2025.05.013). Single-cell RNA sequencing in ApcMin/+ mice and clinical specimens demonstrates that Shen-Bai-Jie-Du decoction inhibits colorectal tumorigenesis by regulating TMEM131–TNF signaling pathway-mediated differentiation of immunosuppressive dendritic cells.
CMD-OPT model enables the discovery of a potent and selective RIPK2 inhibitor as preclinical candidate for the treatment of acute liver injury by Yong Chen, Xue Yuan, Wei Yan and colleagues, (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.apsb.2025.05.003). RP20, as a promising preclinical RIPK2 inhibitor candidate, exhibited excellent kinase selectivity, perfect oral pharmacokinetics, and high safety. It exhibited better therapeutic effects than N-acetylcysteine and GSK2983559 in APAP-induced ALI model. This represents the inaugural deployment of RIPK2 inhibitors in the treatment of ALI, thereby offering a novel therapeutic avenue for clinical application.

Testimonials

For well over a decade, in my capacity as a researcher, broadcaster, and producer, I have relied heavily on Alphagalileo.
All of my work trips have been planned around stories that I've found on this site.
The under embargo section allows us to plan ahead and the news releases enable us to find key experts.
Going through the tailored daily updates is the best way to start the day. It's such a critical service for me and many of my colleagues.
Koula Bouloukos, Senior manager, Editorial & Production Underknown
We have used AlphaGalileo since its foundation but frankly we need it more than ever now to ensure our research news is heard across Europe, Asia and North America. As one of the UK’s leading research universities we want to continue to work with other outstanding researchers in Europe. AlphaGalileo helps us to continue to bring our research story to them and the rest of the world.
Peter Dunn, Director of Press and Media Relations at the University of Warwick
AlphaGalileo has helped us more than double our reach at SciDev.Net. The service has enabled our journalists around the world to reach the mainstream media with articles about the impact of science on people in low- and middle-income countries, leading to big increases in the number of SciDev.Net articles that have been republished.
