Announcing a new publication for Acta Materia Medica journal. Inflammation is a complex biological response essential for tissue repair in acute settings, yet chronic dysregulation contributes to progressive tissue damage and the pathogenesis of numerous diseases. Lonicera japonica Thunb. (honeysuckle), a traditional Chinese medicinal herb renowned for its “heat clearing and detoxifying” properties, exhibits multi-target anti-inflammatory activity through synergistic modulation of inflammatory signaling cascades. This review systematically consolidates current knowledge regarding the anti-inflammatory bioactive components of honeysuckle and provides comprehensive insights into their therapeutic mechanisms. The focus is on molecular targets, elucidating how honeysuckle constituents regulate key inflammatory pathways, thus offering a foundation for developing Lonicera japonica-based therapeutics against inflammation-driven pathologies. Additionally, the challenges and limitations in translating these findings into clinical applications are critically evaluated.

We have used AlphaGalileo since its foundation but frankly we need it more than ever now to ensure our research news is heard across Europe, Asia and North America. As one of the UK’s leading research universities we want to continue to work with other outstanding researchers in Europe. AlphaGalileo helps us to continue to bring our research story to them and the rest of the world.

AlphaGalileo has helped us more than double our reach at SciDev.Net. The service has enabled our journalists around the world to reach the mainstream media with articles about the impact of science on people in low- and middle-income countries, leading to big increases in the number of SciDev.Net articles that have been republished.
