Registration is now open for ESTRO 2026 – Europe’s largest congress on radiation oncology. More than 7,000 clinicians, scientists, radiation therapists and patients from over 80 countries will come together to present and discuss the latest discoveries in radiotherapy.

The preliminary programme is now available and includes research on treatment for breast, lung, gastro-intestinal, prostate, brain and cervical cancers, as well as cancers that affect children:

More than half of all cancer patients currently receive radiotherapy as part of their treatment. Developments in radiation oncology mean that tumours can be targeted more precisely and treatment can be delivered more quickly. This is improving survival rates and reducing side-effects for patients.

This year’s congress is set to be the biggest yet, with more than 4,000 researchers from around the world presenting their latest findings, including the results of clinical trials that will change practice in radiation oncology. The theme of this year’s congress is ‘Innovating radiation oncology, together’, focusing on joining forces across the radiation oncology community to advance innovation, improve clinical practice, and ultimately enhance care for patients.

Free registration is available for bone fide journalists who wish to attend the congress in person or online. For full details of our media policy and information on how to register, visit:

We welcome the media to ESTRO 2026, and all sessions are open to journalists. A press centre with internet connection will be available. Scientific sessions will also be live streamed, and recordings will become available online for registered media within 24 hours of each session. The official language for the congress is English.

We strongly recommend you register now, rather than onsite in Stockholm, and book your accommodation.

AlphaGalileo has helped us more than double our reach at SciDev.Net. The service has enabled our journalists around the world to reach the mainstream media with articles about the impact of science on people in low- and middle-income countries, leading to big increases in the number of SciDev.Net articles that have been republished.
