17 LMU scholars make Highly Cited Researchers list from Clarivate


The latest international publication analysis recognizes 17 LMU scholars as among the most successful in their field.

In the latest evaluation by analytics company Clarivate, 17 LMU scholars are ranked among its Highly Cited Researchers – a clear indicator of the international visibility and major influence of their research. The accolade recognizes researchers whose publications have been cited particularly often worldwide and who are therefore among the most successful in their field.

“Highly Cited Researchers 2025” considered publications that appeared between 2014 and 2024. Overall, the list includes 6,868 scholars worldwide, among them the following researchers from LMU (by research area):

Frequency of citation is regarded as an important indicator of the quality and influence of research, as it shows which studies are recognized as particularly relevant by the scientific community. To determine the Highly Cited Researchers list, the company Clarivate evaluates its Web of Science database every year. Only publications are considered which belong to the top one percent of most-cited papers in 21 specialist fields and the interdisciplinary category.
