Registration is now open for the 43rd Congress of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS). This is the once-a-year occasion when more than 16,000 ophthalmology experts from 120 countries come together to present and discuss their latest discoveries for improving and preserving eyesight.

The preliminary programme is now available and includes research on corrective eye surgery, cataract surgery, corneal transplantation, glaucoma, infectious eye diseases and imaging of the eye: https://congress.escrs.org/programme/

Free registration is available for bone fide journalists who wish to attend the Congress in person. For full details of our media policy and information on how to register, visit: https://congress.escrs.org/congress-information/media-policy/

We welcome the media to the Congress and all sessions are open to journalists. A press centre with internet connection and printing facilities will be available. We strongly recommend you register now, rather than onsite in Copenhagen, and book your accommodation. A selection of scientific sessions will be live streamed, and most will be recorded and available online for registered media approximately 24 hours after each session. The official language for the Congress is English.

For media queries about this event please contact: press@office.escrs.org

The ESCRS was founded in 1991 to promote education and research in the field of implant and refractive surgery and to advance and promote the study and practice of ophthalmology. It has over 7,500 members from 130 countries worldwide.

We have used AlphaGalileo since its foundation but frankly we need it more than ever now to ensure our research news is heard across Europe, Asia and North America. As one of the UK’s leading research universities we want to continue to work with other outstanding researchers in Europe. AlphaGalileo helps us to continue to bring our research story to them and the rest of the world.

AlphaGalileo has helped us more than double our reach at SciDev.Net. The service has enabled our journalists around the world to reach the mainstream media with articles about the impact of science on people in low- and middle-income countries, leading to big increases in the number of SciDev.Net articles that have been republished.
Ben Deighton, SciDevNet
AlphaGalileo is a great source of global research news. I use it regularly.
