Chiba University
Chiba University is a national university in Japan with a history that dates back approximately 150 years to the founding of Chiba Normal School and Chiba Public Hospital. In 1949, the university was re-established and unified with five faculties. Since then, it has grown into a comprehensive institution with 11 undergraduate schools and 9 graduate schools. The university’s fundamental mission, encapsulated by the inscription on the University Bell—Ad Altiora Semper (“Always Aim Higher”)—is to equip students with the ability to make mature, informed judgments while fostering their creativity and intellectual growth.
