The American College of Cardiology (ACC) and the Emirates Cardiac Society (ECS) will host the ACC Middle East 2025 Together with 16
th Emirates Cardiac Society Conference on October 3-5 in Dubai, UAE. The conference will bring together leading experts and cardiovascular clinicians from across the Middle East to examine emerging trends and evidence-based strategies in prevention and management of patients with heart disease.
Cardiovascular disease is the number one killer in the world, including the Middle East and North Africa. According to the
World Heart Federation, cardiovascular disease related deaths have risen by 48% in the last three decades. The
latest Global Burden of Disease study found the region has among the highest CVD burden and mortality rate in the world, largely due to an increase in modifiable risk factors—blood pressure, dietary risks and cholesterol; population growth; and population aging.
“The partnership between the Emirates Cardiac Society and the American College of Cardiology reflects our shared commitment to advancing cardiovascular care through collaboration, innovation and education. The upcoming ACC Middle East together with the 16th Emirates Cardiac Society Conference is more than just a scientific gathering—it is a platform where global expertise meets regional vision, shaping the future of cardiovascular health for our communities and beyond,” said Juwairia Alali, BMBS, FACC, conference co-chair.
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the latest cardiovascular diagnostic methods and treatment strategies and engage in discussions with expert faculty on hot topics ranging from heart failure to prevention. Key plenary sessions will address issues facing cardiovascular clinicians today. Among the plenary sessions:
- Cardio-AI: Redefining CV Care with AI
- Barriers and Strategies to Overcome Equitable Care Delivery of Cardiovascular Care
- Weight and Obesity Management: A Critical Pillar in Cardiovascular Health in the Middle East
- The Burden of Cardiovascular Disease in the Middle East: Tackling Risk Factors at the Root
Participants will come away with localized best practices for applying the latest science in daily clinical practice and have the opportunity to share new science from across the region as part of the abstract and case presentations. Three ACC Middle East Chapter teams, each made up of three Fellows-in-Training (FITs), will also compete in ACC FIT Jeopardy, where contestants are quizzed in a gameshow-like setting on a variety of topics, such as imaging, prevention and interventional cardiology. The winning team will compete at the ACC Annual Scientific Session (ACC.26) in New Orleans in March 2026.
For the first time at ACC Middle East, the ACC will also recognize individuals from throughout the region who have earned the distinguished Fellow of the ACC (FACC) designation. This prestigious credential recognizes a commitment to improving patient care and outcomes.
“The ACC Middle East 2025 regional conference in Dubai represents a unique opportunity for cardiovascular professionals to engage with cutting-edge research and clinical practices tailored specifically to our region's diverse patient populations and healthcare challenges. What makes regional conferences so powerful is that the insights shared here, whether about genetic predispositions common in Middle Eastern populations or healthcare delivery models that work within our specific cultural and economic contexts, are attuned to our needs,” said Wael A. Jaber, MD, FACC, co-chair of the conference. “I encourage every attendee to view themselves as ambassadors of learning, taking the evidence-based practices, innovative techniques, and collaborative networks formed here back to their home institutions to elevate cardiovascular care across the entire region.”
