Announcing a new publication for
Acta Materia Medica journal. Guanidine alkaloids widely exist in terrestrial microorganisms, peptides, and marine invertebrates, and have a multitude of biological activities. Consequently, these molecules have attracted attention as potential drug leads among chemists and biologists. This review provides an overview of research progress in bioactive guanidine alkaloids since 2012, describing their most important biological properties, including antimicrobial, antiparasitic, antiviral, and anticancer activities. New compounds reported since 2012 and the biological activities of known compounds reported before 2012 are included.
