KDE Community Meets for Akademy 2024 at the University of Würzburg and Online

The conference brings together people from the fields of development, art, design and translation. They are joined by sponsors and supporters from all over the world who have been working together online throughout the year and are now getting to know each other live. They will discuss technical issues, explore new ideas and strengthen KDE's innovative and dynamic culture.

Akademy 2024 will take place as a hybrid event, combining face-to-face interactions and online events. The conference consists of lectures, panel discussions, workshops, training sessions and collaborative development work. It is co-organised on site by the working group of Professor Andreas Nüchter from the Institute of Computer Science at the University of Würzburg.

KDE is an international community dedicated to the development and distribution of free and open-source software and has produced a variety of applications for communication, productivity, education and entertainment. Central to this is the endeavour to find innovative solutions for existing and emerging challenges and to create a lively and open environment for this.

Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg will be the venue for Akademy 2024. It is a renowned university with a long tradition and is committed to excellence in research and teaching. Located in the centre of Würzburg, it offers a diverse academic spectrum and a dynamic environment for students.

Testimonios

We have used AlphaGalileo since its foundation but frankly we need it more than ever now to ensure our research news is heard across Europe, Asia and North America. As one of the UK’s leading research universities we want to continue to work with other outstanding researchers in Europe. AlphaGalileo helps us to continue to bring our research story to them and the rest of the world.
Peter Dunn, Director of Press and Media Relations at the University of Warwick
AlphaGalileo has helped us more than double our reach at SciDev.Net. The service has enabled our journalists around the world to reach the mainstream media with articles about the impact of science on people in low- and middle-income countries, leading to big increases in the number of SciDev.Net articles that have been republished.
Ben Deighton, SciDevNet
AlphaGalileo is a great source of global research news. I use it regularly.
