Celebrating 80 years of EULAR and shaping the future of research and care in rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases.
—

The European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology (EULAR) is now accepting press registrations for its Congress, taking place from 9-12 June 2027 at Messe Berlin, Germany.
Marking a major milestone in the organisation’s history, EULAR 2027 will celebrate EULAR’s 80th anniversary, bringing together the global rheumatology community to reflect on eight decades of progress while looking ahead to the discoveries, innovations and partnerships that will shape the future of rheumatic and musculoskeletal disease (RMD) research and care.

The EULAR 2027 Congress will once again bring together leading scientists, clinicians, healthcare professionals and patient representatives from around the world to share the latest advances in RMD. The programme will spotlight emerging science, innovative treatments, digital transformation and new approaches to personalised and equitable care, while continuing EULAR’s commitment to collaboration across the rheumatology community.
  • From discovery to treatment: New insights into immune mechanisms, biomarkers and translational research are accelerating the development of targeted therapies for rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases.
  • The future of personalised care: Sessions explore precision medicine, immune-reset strategies, cellular therapies and better treatment selection across lupus, arthritis, vasculitis, systemic sclerosis and other conditions.
  • Digital transformation in rheumatology care and research: Artificial intelligence, advanced imaging and large-scale data are examined as tools for improving diagnosis, monitoring, research and clinical decision-making.
  • Rheumatology throughout life: The programme highlights pregnancy, fertility, menopause, childhood-onset disease, ageing and sex differences, reflecting the need for care tailored to every stage of life.
  • Advancing care through partnership: Clinicians, researchers, health professionals and patient representatives come together through scientific, HPR, PARE and joint sessions to advance equitable and integrated rheumatology care.
From giving rheumatology a stronger voice to becoming a leading voice for the field
The Congress will be particularly significant as EULAR celebrates its 80th anniversary. Since its foundation, EULAR has played a central role in bringing together stakeholders across Europe and beyond, driving progress in immunology, precision medicine, digital transformation, emerging therapies and increasingly collaborative models of care.

“Over eight decades, our community has transformed what is possible in research, treatment and care, driven by scientific progress and, above all, collaboration”, said Prof Xenofon Baraliakos, EULAR President. “As we look to the next 80 years, EULAR remains committed to bringing the rheumatology community together, championing innovation and translating scientific advances into better outcomes for people with RMDs.”

Building on a successful Congress format:
  • Evolving programme structure: Scientific sessions will continue over the lunch period, following positive feedback from 2026 and giving delegates greater flexibility.
  • Bring Your Own Device (BYOD): Delegates can use their own devices to access Congress content, digital posters and interactive activities, supporting accessibility and sustainability.
  • AI live translations: Live translation will make the Congress programme and content more accessible to participants from different linguistic backgrounds.
Exclusive opportunities for the media
Members of the press are invited to attend EULAR 2027 to report on the latest developments in RMD research, treatment and care, with opportunities to connect with leading EULAR experts and Congress faculty for interviews and explore topics most relevant to their audiences.

“We warmly welcome journalists and media professionals to join us for this special 80th anniversary Congress,” said Associate Prof Helga Lechner-Radner, EULAR 2027 Programme Chair. “The media play an essential role in bringing important scientific advances to the attention of healthcare professionals, policymakers, patients and the wider public. We look forward to providing opportunities for meaningful engagement with the experts and research presented at EULAR 2027.”
