A series of five policy briefs, titled "From Barriers to Action: Policy Insights for Advancing Urban Regeneration", provides suggestions and governance insights for Spanish, Bulgarian, French, Italian and Swiss authorities.

The EU-funded GINNGER project has launched a new series of nation-focused policy briefs exploring the regulatory and governance frameworks that influence neighbourhood regeneration across its pilot territories: Orte (Italy), Massagno (Switzerland), Langreo and Murcia (Spain), Paris (France) and Plovdiv (Bulgaria).

All policy briefs are available at Resources - GINNGER, in English and in the language of the related country.

The briefs stem from the analysis of local regulatory contexts carried out by the GINNGER team and insights gathered from the pilots’ activities. Each document examines key challenges and opportunities affecting neighbourhood regeneration in one of the five countries. They provide evidence-based insights and practical recommendations for policymakers, public authorities and stakeholders involved in urban transformation processes.

The series also highlights shared priorities central to sustainable and inclusive regeneration. These include governance coordination, citizen engagement, energy efficiency, sustainable mobility, resource efficiency and the renovation of buildings and public spaces.

The new publications contribute to GINNGER's broader mission of supporting effective neighbourhood transitions by identifying policy and regulatory conditions that can enable long-term regeneration strategies. Building on GINNGER’s first policy brief on the European policy and regulatory framework for neighbourhood regeneration, this pilot-specific publications explore how these challenges and opportunities unfold in national and local contexts.
