DEDALUS releases final resources for demand response innovation

30/04/2026 youris.com

After three years of research, development and real-life validation, the EU-funded DEDALUS project has concluded, leaving behind a set of tools, evidence and lessons learnt to support the future deployment of residential demand response in Europe.

Across seven pilot sites in Austria, Denmark, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Romania and Spain, DEDALUS tested human-centric and interoperable solutions in diverse residential contexts, including energy communities, social housing, student residences, district-scale environments and elderly living facilities.
Among its key achievements, DEDALUS:

  • Validated residential demand response in real-life settings, showing how flexibility can be activated across different building types, user groups and local energy conditions.
  • Developed and tested interoperable digital solutions, combining AI, IoT, blockchain, digital twins, smart heating control and user-facing services to support more flexible, efficient and user-centred energy management.
The project’s results are now compiled into the DEDALUS Innovation Handbook, together with pilot and cross-cutting factsheets, policy outputs, reports, videos, and other legacy materials. All these DEDALUS legacy materials are available for download at this link.

In line with the project’s commitment to open access, DEDALUS outputs are also available through Zenodo, ensuring that the knowledge generated remains accessible and reusable beyond the project’s formal end. DEDALUS Zenodo Community is available here.

About DEDALUS
DEDALUS is an EU-funded project that develops and demonstrates a participatory Demand Response ecosystem enabling residential consumers to actively contribute to energy flexibility from home to district scale. The project combines social science approaches, AI tools, digital twins, and interoperable data platforms to support multi-energy scenarios and community engagement. Its solutions will be validated in five large-scale pilots across Europe and replicated in additional pilots.

Testimonios

We have used AlphaGalileo since its foundation but frankly we need it more than ever now to ensure our research news is heard across Europe, Asia and North America. As one of the UK’s leading research universities we want to continue to work with other outstanding researchers in Europe. AlphaGalileo helps us to continue to bring our research story to them and the rest of the world.
Peter Dunn, Director of Press and Media Relations at the University of Warwick
AlphaGalileo has helped us more than double our reach at SciDev.Net. The service has enabled our journalists around the world to reach the mainstream media with articles about the impact of science on people in low- and middle-income countries, leading to big increases in the number of SciDev.Net articles that have been republished.
Ben Deighton, SciDevNet
AlphaGalileo is a great source of global research news. I use it regularly.
