Frontiers Journals

Frontiers Journals, launched by Higher Education Press (HEP) in 2006, is an English academic journal series which consists of 28 journals covering extensive subject areas. It aims to build a world-class academic brand and to reflect remarkable research achievements around the world. Among the series, 13 titles have been indexed by SCI, 1 title indexed by A&HCI, 6 titles indexed by EI, while the others have been included in the international abstracting & indexing services within respective subject areas. The editorial board of Frontiers Journals, led by the Editors-in-Chief, is responsible for the soliciting and reviewing of manuscripts. By cooperating with universities and research institutions,Frontiers Journals manages to realize the effective coordination of academic and publishing resources. Meanwhile, journal series cooperate with renowned international academic publishers including Springer, Elsevier, etc. for overseas distribution. HEP has developed an online journal publishing platform, the Frontiers Journals website, providing access service to global users. Three versions of the online articles are displayed and alternate, namely, Just Accepted, Online First and Current Issue. Working on this mechanism, the platform enables rapid online distribution while ensuring the quality of papers and improves the performance for graphics and references processing based on an international standard structured full text data landscape. In 2019, Frontiers Journals was selected into the pilot project of “China STM Journals Excellence Action Plan”, while Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering was selected as a key journal in the project, and six journals including Protein & Cell, Frontiers of Physics, Frontiers of Optoelectronics, Frontiers of Computer Science, Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering and Frontiers of Mathematics in China, were also selected into this project. With close cooperation with universities and research institutions, HEP will be committed to providing services among the academic community, and will continue to contribute efforts for the promotion of China's international academic impact.'
