ASA Invites Media to Acoustics Meeting in Philadelphia, May 11-15

PHILADELPHIA, April 14, 2026 — The Acoustical Society of America is hosting a meeting May 11-15 at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown. ASA will offer in-person sessions throughout the week and host livestreamed press conferences on Tuesday, May 12.

This scientific conference brings together interdisciplinary groups of acoustics professionals to discuss the latest advancements from a variety of fields, including physics, medicine, music, architecture, animal biology, and engineering. While in Philadelphia, experts will present work on topics such as pickleball noise, baseball bat geometry, the effect of fireworks on bat behavior, and vocal learning in birds and babies. Conference highlights can be found on social media by using the #ASA190 hashtag.
Reporters are invited to attend in-person sessions at no cost (registration details below).

Media are also encouraged to participate in a series of livestreamed press conferences featuring a selection of newsworthy sessions on Tuesday, May 12; times and topics will be announced in the coming weeks. Journalists may pre-register by emailing media@aip.org.

AlphaGalileo has helped us more than double our reach at SciDev.Net. The service has enabled our journalists around the world to reach the mainstream media with articles about the impact of science on people in low- and middle-income countries, leading to big increases in the number of SciDev.Net articles that have been republished.
