Geneva’s bid was submitted by HUG, the Republic and Canton of Geneva, the City of Geneva and the Geneva Convention Bureau.
As international funding for the global response to HIV declines, hopes of ending the pandemic by 2030 appear seriously at risk.
The IAS Conference on HIV Science, the world’s most influential meeting on HIV research and its applications, will be key to maintaining the scientific and political momentum of recent years.
Lasting legacy
In its wake, the City, the Canton, HUG, the University of Geneva (UNIGE) and several partners are committed to ensuring that the conference leaves a lasting legacy, positioning Geneva as a key player in the global HIV response in the face of current challenges.
