Smart Science, Real Solutions: ACC Asia 2025 Tackles Heart Health Challenges Across Asia

Conference convenes global experts, recognizes new Fellows of the ACC

The American College of Cardiology (ACC) and the Singapore Cardiac Society (SCS) will host the ACC Asia 2025 Together with SCS 36th Annual Scientific Meeting on May 9-11 in Singapore. The conference will bring together leading experts and cardiovascular clinicians from across Asia to examine emerging trends and evidence-based strategies in the prevention and management of patients with heart disease.

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the world, including Asia. In recent years, rates of heart disease deaths have either plateaued or are on the rise in many regions and countries, including where they had previously been declining. According to the global burden of cardiovascular diseases and risks report, published in JACC in 2023, China has the highest number of cardiovascular diseases globally, while Japan has the lowest cardiovascular disease mortality in the world. Many of the risk factors for heart disease are modifiable, including high blood pressure, diet, high cholesterol, air pollution and body mass index.

“The ACC regional conferences play a crucial role in fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange within the global cardiovascular community. By partnering with the Singapore Cardiac Society for this year’s conference in Asia, we have opportunities to share and address the unique challenges amongst cardiovascular professions in the region,” said David Foo, MBBS, FACC, ACC Asia conference co-chair and president of the Singapore Cardiac Society. “It’s vital that we continue to share insights, research, and best practices to improve patient outcomes worldwide. Through this event, we hope attendees leave with a deeper understanding of cutting-edge care, new ideas to integrate into their own clinical practices, and a strengthened network of peers committed to transforming cardiovascular health for all.”

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the latest cardiovascular diagnostic methods and treatment strategies and engage in discussions with expert faculty on hot topics ranging from heart failure to prevention. Key plenary sessions will address issues facing cardiovascular clinicians today. Among the key plenary sessions:
  • Cardiac MRI for Suspected Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy: Getting to the Heart of the Matter with ACC President Christopher Kramer, MD, FACC
  • Utilizing AI in Daily Cardiology Practice: Ready for Prime Time? with ACC Chief Innovation Officer Ami Bhatt, MD, FACC
  • Overview of Recent Advances in Cancer Therapeutics and Cardiotoxicity with JACC: CardioOncology editor-in-chief Bonnie Ky, MD, FACC

Participants will also come away with localized best practices for applying the latest science in daily clinical practice and have the opportunity to share new science from across the region as part of abstract and case presentations. Three ACC Asia Chapter teams, each made up of three Fellows-in-Training (FITs), will also compete in ACC FIT Jeopardy, where contestants are quizzed in a gameshow-like setting on a variety of topics, such as imaging, prevention and interventional cardiology. The winning team will compete at the ACC Annual Scientific Session (ACC.26) in New Orleans in March 2026.

New this year, the ACC will also be recognizing more than 30 individuals from throughout the region who have earned the distinguished Fellow of the ACC (FACC) designation. This prestigious credential recognizes a commitment to improving patient care and outcomes.

“ACC Asia will be an unforgettable meeting filled with learning, connection and the vibrant culture of Singapore,” said Eugene Yang, MD, FACC, ACC Asia conference co-chair. “I am especially looking forward to the plenary discussion on how AI is being integrated into clinical care. Artificial intelligence is impacting all industries and cardiology is no exception. Another true highlight is the Convocation ceremony, the first one ever at an ACC regional conference. This is a proud moment that reflects the growing strength of our global community, and I am so glad to be a part of it.”
