Ort Mytilene, Greece

Researchers at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca have developed a blockchain-based approach using evolutionary game theory to enhance cooperation, efficiency, and equity in transactive energy communities.

The DEDALUS project is co-organising the 5th International Workshop on AI & Data Analytics in the Energy Sector, scheduled for 10–12 July 2025 in Mytilene, Greece. This workshop is a key component of IISA 2025.

Coordinated by the DDS Lab at NTUA, the workshop brings together leading AI researchers, energy experts, and policymakers to explore cutting-edge methodologies poised to redefine the next decade of energy analytics.

The event is closely linked to research activities from several Horizon Europe and LIFE projects, including Crete Valley, EnerTEF, ENPOWER, ENERGATE, METABUILD, DATAWiSE, Hedge-IoT, BuildON, CLIMRES, and BUILDSPACE.

In a world racing toward digitalisation and decarbonisation, data is the new energy. This workshop is a hub for those tackling the complex, high-impact problems at the intersection of AI, analytics, and the energy transition. DSS Lab, EPU NTUA, is thrilled to lead this effort, particularly through our work in the DEDALUS project, where we’re shaping the future of interoperable, intelligent energy solutions.”, stated Elissaios Sarmas – Researcher ad DSS-NTUA and scientific coordinator of DEDALUS.
The workshop will delve into topics such as:
  • Generative AI & Large Language Models for real-time energy system management
  • AI-powered digital twins for self-learning buildings and grids
  • Neuromorphic AI architectures for ultra-low-power energy optimization
  • Swarm intelligence & agent-based models for decentralized energy networks
  • Federated learning & privacy-preserving AI in energy ecosystems
  • Quantum machine learning for next-generation energy forecasting
  • Blockchain & AI convergence for secure and autonomous energy trading
  • Self-healing energy networks powered by reinforcement learning

A key feature of this year’s workshop is a new session designed by the Smart Energy Cluster — of which DEDALUS has been an active member since 2023 — bringing together leading EU projects committed to advancing smart energy solutions.

Structured as a “Visionary Roundtable”, this segment will offer a series of enlightening talks and interactive discussions, showcasing the breakthroughs, market relevance, and real-world applications of the Cluster’s latest projects.

DEDALUS will be represented in this session by Alessandro Rossi, senior researcher and project manager at Engineering S.p.A.

We have used AlphaGalileo since its foundation but frankly we need it more than ever now to ensure our research news is heard across Europe, Asia and North America. As one of the UK’s leading research universities we want to continue to work with other outstanding researchers in Europe. AlphaGalileo helps us to continue to bring our research story to them and the rest of the world.

AlphaGalileo has helped us more than double our reach at SciDev.Net. The service has enabled our journalists around the world to reach the mainstream media with articles about the impact of science on people in low- and middle-income countries, leading to big increases in the number of SciDev.Net articles that have been republished.
