Journalist registration

By registering as a journalist with AlphaGalileo, you will gain access to the most recent news on European research, coming from reliable sources. Please read more information about our services for the media here.

How to register with AlphaGalileo

To register with AlphaGalileo, you need to fill in our online application form which can be found here.

Application form

Choose login details & Add your contact details - Please provide us with your full details by filling in all the fields.

Let us know your employment status - Please enter your job title here and indicate if you are a freelancer or whether you are employed by a media organisation.

  • Employee - please give us your employer's details; if you are employed, we will also ask you to provide us with your corporate email address (however, you are free to use another email address for AlphaGalileo alerts, if you prefer)
  • Freelance - please provide us with a referee who can confirm that you are a bona fide journalist (the referee should be employed by a media organisation and have a corporate email address)

Accept terms & conditions - We advise you to read the terms and conditions of use of AlphaGalileo's service and the conditions of publication.

Customise your display - The website is divided into six sections (Science, Arts, Technology, Health, Society, Humanities) plus a default 'view all'; if you wish, you can choose to go into one of the six sections every time you log in and to view the content published in this section. When using the site, you can change the section you are in at any time by clicking one of the topics at the top of the page.

You can also decide whether you would like to navigate the website in English or Spanish.

AlphaGalileo accepts news in all European languages. Apart from choosing the navigation language, you can also indicate the content in which language you would like to view on the website and receive in your email alerts.

Settings for email alerts - When? As well as viewing content on the site, you can also select to be emailed full texts or summaries of all content (including embargoed news). You can receive the emails immediately, every day (please choose the time) or once a week. What? The form allows you also to select exactly what content is of interest to you, by checking the boxes next to keywords, e.g. Life Sciences, Technology, Food or Social Sciences.

Additional information - This field allows you to give any additional information to accompany your application.

Complete registration - Once you have completed your application, it will be sent to our team and will be processed shortly. As soon as it has been approved, you will receive a confirmation email with your login details to AlphaGalileo.

Please note that you will be able to edit all your settings and preferences at any time, provided your application has been successful.
