How successful was your news

Contributors to AlphaGalileo can check how many page hits your news has received and how many email alerts including your release have been sent out to journalists. This information will allow you to estimate how successful your news has been in the media.

Page hits

The page hits value stands for a number of times your news has been viewed on our website. When journalists receive email alerts with summaries of press releases, they usually go to our website to check the whole text of the news they are interested in. Please note that some journalists are subscribed to email alerts with full texts of releases, hence they don't need to visit our website to read your news in full and are not covered by the page hits values.

> How to check?

To see how many page hits your release has received, please log-in to AlphaGalileo and click on the chosen type of news (i.e. Release or Book) in the Add or edit... section. On the next page you will see a table with the titles of all news items that have been posted with your login. In the last column of the table you will see the number of page hits for each of your releases.

Email alerts

All users registered with our service can subscribe to email alerts about the most recent research published on AlphaGalileo. They can indicate which areas of research are interesting for them by selecting keywords. If your news' content matches the keywords they have chosen, it is included in the email alerts sent out to them.

> How to check?

To see how many email alerts including your release have been sent, please log-in to AlphaGalileo and click on the chosen type of news (i.e. Release or Book) in the Add or edit... section. On the next page you will see a table with the titles of all news items that have been posted with your log-in. There are three columns showing email alert figures:

  • Media emails - a number of emails sent to the journalists registered with AlphaGalileo
  • Other emails - a number of emails sent to press officers and experts
  • Emails (total) - a number of all emails sent

When to check?

Please note that some of the journalists are subscribed to weekly alerts, hence they may be notified of your news a few days after it was actually posted on our website. This is why it is best to check the page hits and email alerts values about a week after your news was published.
