How to register with AlphaGalileo
To register with AlphaGalileo, fill out the online application form here. You can save time if your organisation's details are saved on our database. To find out if this is the case, enter your organisation's name in the search engine. If you find your institution there, click on 'join' to go directly to your personal application form.
If your organisation is not listed there, click on continue with the registration. On the next page, you will be asked for your employer's details (i.e., address information, description and logo). This information will be automatically placed at the top of all content submitted with your login and will be added to AlphaGalileo's address book.

Choose login details & Personal details & Work details - Please provide us with your full personal and work details by filling in all the fields, as our journalists highly appreciate this information.
Describe your role - Please indicate if you are the head of the press office. If this is not the case, we will ask your organisation's press officer to confirm that you are entitled to post news on their behalf. This is standard procedure to verify new users' identities.
Choose your options for AlphaGalileo - You have the following options to choose from:
- contributing content to AlphaGalileo
- becoming an expert for the media - your details will be saved on our database of specialists available for the members of the media only; if you wish to be an expert, you will be asked to give some additional details (i.e., your qualifications, publications, languages you speak); for more information about the expert application, please click here;
- becoming the main contact for your organisation - if your organisation has several people registered with AlphaGalileo, one person can be nominated as the 'press officer' who can edit colleagues' details online and view all the content posted by them;
- authorising for your details to be edited by your organisation's main contact - the press officer of your organisation will be able to edit your details with your explicit permission.

Customise your display - The website is divided into six sections (Science, Arts, Technology, Health, Society, Humanities) plus a default 'view all'; if you wish, you can specify a section to go into automatically when you log in. You can change the section you are in at any time by clicking one of the topic buttons at the top of the page.
You can also decide whether you would like to navigate the website in English or Spanish.
AlphaGalileo accepts news in all European languages. You can choose the languages you read on the website and receive in your email alerts.
Settings for email alerts - When? As well as viewing content on the site, you can also select to be emailed summaries of all non-embargoed and out-of-embargo content. You can receive the emails every day (please choose the time) or once a week. What? The form allows you also to select exactly what content is of interest to you, by checking the boxes next to keywords, e.g. Life Sciences, Technology, Food or Social Sciences.
Additional information - This field allows you to give any additional information to accompany your application.
Complete registration - Once you have completed your application, it will be sent to our team and will be processed shortly. As soon as it has been approved, you will receive a confirmation email with your login details to AlphaGalileo.
Please note that you will be able to edit all your settings and preferences at any time.
