Close encounters of the Cooperative kind – World exclusive demonstrations of Mobility 2.0!

Press and media representatives are invited to join us on 24 March to experience for themselves the cooperative mobility of the future!
During the Cooperative Mobility Showcase organised alongside the Intertraffic trade fair, the European flagship project for Cooperative Vehicle-Infrastructure Systems (CVIS) offers you the opportunity to experience directly the future of cooperative mobility, through live demonstrations on the public highways and at the off-road safety demonstration area!
The Showcase is jointly organised by the CVIS project together with the European Commission and the EU co-funded projects SAFESPOT and COOPERS.
This event is the culmination of more than four years of research into cooperative mobility technologies and applications. Based on innovative hardware and software for connecting vehicles to roadside and back-office systems, the CVIS on-board and roadside units provide a development platform for an endless variety of applications for delivering services to drivers and other road users, to road and traffic managers and to the transport and logistics industries.
As a passenger in one of the 10 tour minivans, you will see exclusive demonstrations of the “ITS App Store”, where over 25 CVIS applications pop up in response to live hazards or traffic situations on the road network between Amsterdam RAI and Schiphol airport. Journalists will find CVIS project experts on tap to answer any technical or non-technical queries and to explain fully the benefits and opportunities of the technology.
Applied in all vehicles and across Europe, CVIS technology would have profound effects on the safety, efficiency and environmental impact of the road network, as well as opening the door to a flowering of user services in the same way that mobile internet is redefining the portable phone.
A high level official event opening and subsequent press conference is scheduled on Wednesday 24 March starting at 11.00. The press programme also includes a technical briefing and dedicated departures of the demonstration tour, with special opportunities for filming and photography. A press lunch is offered with the chance to meet the project teams.
