Goldsmiths takes part first ever Inside Out Festival

This year Goldsmiths, University of London is taking part in the first ever Inside Out festival of higher education from 19 – 25 October 2009.
Inside Out is a major new festival curated by LCACE (the London Centre for Arts and Cultural Exchange) to showcase the fascinating contribution of nine London Universities to the capital’s cultural life. Activities will take place across London, including the following Goldsmiths events:
Knowledge Futures Conference
16 & 17 October
Goldsmiths, University of London, New Cross SE14 6NW
Knowledge transfer describes how knowledge and ideas move between sources to the potential users of that knowledge. This unique conference explores this area and includes a live sound event.
Who Decides the Value of Contemporary Art?
19 October 2009

The Triangle Space, Chelsea College of Art
This panel discussion will focus on how contemporary art is valued and by whom. It is part of an ongoing process initiated by Sarah Rowles, founder of Q-Art London who, last year, decided to undertake research to unpick the art world and get to grips with it as part of her BA Art Practice at Goldsmiths.
Walls of Film: the memory of public spheres

Can Creative Writing be taught?

Following a selection of student readings, Blake Morrison and Maura Dooley, both of whom are staff tutors on the Goldsmiths course, will discuss what it means to teach Creative Writing. In so doing they will attempt to unpick some of the following important questions:

A celebration of drawing at Goldsmiths with a wide range of creative activities and workshops. Ideal for children up to 14yrs, visitors will be encouraged to take part in a variety of guided activities led by postgraduate trainee teachers from Goldsmiths making this free event a fun day out for the whole family.
