Modular Gas-to-Liquids provides solution to monetise shale gas

19 September 2012 — 19 September 2012 Oxford Catalysts

Shale plays are the most important trends in North American oil and gas, but with gas prices remaining low, the economics of some resources are marginal.

In a presentation titled Modular Gas-to-Liquids: a Solution to Monetise Shale Gas, to be given on Friday, 19 September at 3:30 in the Technology Forum at the 3rd World Shale Oil and Gas Summit, Jeff McDaniel, Commercial Director, Oxford Catalyst Group, Kevin Stanley, CEO, Ventech Engineers and Niels Udengaard, Syngas Technology Manager, Haldor Topsøe, Inc. will discuss the use of modular Gas-to-Liquids (GTL) plants based on the use of microchannel reactors to realise high value from shale gas and other gas resources where the economics are marginal.

The three companies will also be exhibiting together at the Summit, which takes place in Houston, Texas on 19-21 September.

Jeff McDaniel, Commercial Director, Oxford Catalysts Group says:

“Modular GTL represents a revolutionary way of approaching the challenge of monetising remote gas resources. It can be scaled to match the size of the resource and offers an efficient and cost-effective way to produce clean liquid fuels from smaller scale gas fields and shale gas resources.”
