Encos Board of Directors expands
03 September 2012
David Szymanski and Michael Driver have joined the Board of Directors at Encos Ltd. They join the Board as Encos Ltd prepares to commercialise its carbon neutral bricks (Encobricks) and brick slips (Encoslips).
David Szymanksi is an expert in the field of bricks. He had a long and successful career at Hanson plc – now wholly owned by the Heidelberg Cement Group – which culminated in the role of Managing Director at Hanson Building Products. He has served as a Trustee of BRE and became a Non-Executive Director there in 2010. He joined the Encos Advisory Board in June 2011.
Michael Driver is an architect and brick specialist. He is an Associate Lecturer at the Cambridge University School of Architecture specialising in construction, and served as the CEO of the Brick Development Association for 8 years from 2003 – 2011. He joined the Encos Advisory Board in October 2011.
Encobricks and Encoslips are made from a combination of recovered aggregates and vegetable-oil-based binders. They are manufactured using a patented method which is based on research originally carried out at the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Leeds by Dr John Forth into the use of alternative binders in construction materials. The process consumes no water, and produces no waste. The products are completely recyclable.
