The Irish Historic Towns Atlas project aims to record the topographical development of a selection of Irish towns both large and small. Each town is published separately as a fascicle or folder that includes a series of maps complemented by a detailed text section.
The Ennis atlas traces the growht of the town from earliest times to c.1900. An extensive gazetteer documents over 1,200 topographical sites in Ennis. Over 15 early maps abd old views are presented in colour on A3 sheets with additional themaitc maps and illustrations in the accompanying text. Also included is a CD-ROM of the publication with word searchable text and high resolution maps and images for detailed examination.
