Taylor & Francis supports the design community with a new journal launch for 2013
Taylor & Francis is proud to announce the launch of the International Journal of Design Creativity and Innovation for 2013
Catering to researchers and practitioners of engineering design, industrial design, architecture, artificial intelligence, linguistics, cognitive science, and similar areas, The International Journal of Design Creativity and Innovation aims to provide a forum for discussing the nature and potential of creativity and innovation in design from both theoretical and practical perspectives.
The journal aims to not only promote existing research but also pioneer a new design research field that lies in the gray area between the existing field of design research and the disciplines of systems engineering, information technology, computer science, social science, psychology, art, and philosophy.
Taylor & Francis’ Singapore office will provide local liaison and support, while the company’s international Marketing networks will ensure that the journal’s content is seen, read and cited by active researchers around the world.
Through the publishing partnership, the journal will benefit from the Taylor & Francis Online platform, with functionality such as forward citation linking and advanced online publication of articles in both PDF and HTML formats through iFirst.
Prof. Toshiharu Taura, Editor of the International Journal of Design Creativity and Innovation, said:
“We are creating a journal that can lay the foundation of the academic research discipline of design creativity and innovation. Our thorough editing and reviewing process will ensure papers are not only evaluated but also discussed and improved toward the ultimate goal of establishing a new research field”.
Prof Yukari Nagai, Editor of the International Journal of Design Creativity and Innovation, added:
“We welcome challenging, high-quality papers. Perhaps there is no certain way to reach the central issue of design creativity or innovation immediately, but a number of possible approaches may exist. Since design characterizes humans’ capability to create and innovate, we believe now is the time to discuss the topic in depth, with a particular focus on the future”.
