IET Renewable Energy Book
01 August 2012
The Institution of Engineering and Technology
The book draws on the author’s experience of power generation reliability and availability and the condition monitoring of that plant to describe the problems facing the developers of offshore wind farms and the solutions available to them to raise availability, reduce cost of energy and improve through life cost. The author is one of the principal international contributors to the measurement and improvement of wind turbine reliability and this book will be based upon his and colleagues work in the area.
Valuable to wind power production companies, wind turbine manufacturing companies, wind operation and maintenance engineers, SCADA and condition monitoring engineers, research students and final year undergraduate students.
This book will also be of interest to wind turbine technicians and power generation personnel.
The contents include: Development of offshore wind. Reliability of wind turbines. Effects of wind turbine configurations on reliability. Effect of reliability on offshore operation. Design for reliability of wind turbines. Monitoring wind turbines. Maintenance for offshore turbines. Through life costs for offshore turbines.
