AlphaGalileo offers: a high-quality distribution of news of all types to a global media and fellow researchers; media training for researchers and press officers; and a translation service.

High quality international news distribution

We moderate the content we take and the media who can see news. News can be posted under embargo secure in the knowledge that only approved journalists will see it whilst the embargo is in place.

Currently there are over 7,600 journalists using our service on a daily basis from hard to reach freelances to media that includes the BBC, New York Times, Nature, Science, Chicago Tribune, China Radio International, Dagbladet, De Morgen, Der Spiegel, Moscowskaya Pravda and the Washington Post.

The service has a blog roll and customised RSS feeds of breaking news to bloggers, so that news is given the widest possible distribution. Selected stories are posted on Facebook and Twitter to extend the reach of the service.

AlphaGalileo takes all types of news science, health and technology, the arts, humanities, social sciences and business new in all European languages:

• press releases
• event information
• publications (press releases about newly published books, CD-ROMs, DVDs)
• multimedia items (video, podcasts, images, etc)
• broadcast media video news releases, web- and pod-casts, video clips)
• library items (background briefings for journalists)

Because our service, including all our media users, is moderated we are able to take news from peer-reviewed journals under embargo.

Items can be accompanied by images, sound and video files or PDF documents.

Bloggers do not have access to content that is under embargo.

Media training

AlphaGalileo provides intensive practical media training at locations in London or at other locations around the World if needed.

Training costs vary, but are usually around 450€. Check here for details of current courses and costs.

Translation services

Our partner translation service offers reasonable rates and a speedy turn round of your work. AlphaGalileo’s multilingual team can provide assistance with any queries that you may have.

How to use AlphaGalileo

There are three ways to subscribe to use the service.  All the subscriptions are for a year and allow for an unlimited amount of news and contributor log ins. You can also pay by item posted.

• Standard level, which allows you to send your news by email and aggregates all your details and content into a mini-site.
• Economy level, which requires you to login and submit news via an online form. This is only available to academic organisations.
• Premium level provides an advertisement as well as the Standard level features.

We may be able to offer new contributing organisations a one month free trial. Please email alphagalileo@alphagalileo.org to see if your organisation qualifies. Organisations that have used the service previously are not eligible.
