Fondazione Edmund Mach FEM

The Fondazione Edmund Mach - (FEM) was settled by law (L.P. 02nd August 2005, No. 14) and became operative on 1st January 2008. The Fondazione Edmund Mach is a new legal entity and it has been established by a suppression and a merging of two research public bodies, the Centro di Ecologia Alpina (CEALP) and the “Istituto Agrario di San Michele all’Adige (IASMA) Their activities, rights and obligations has been transferred to it. The Fondazione is a Public Research non-profit body, governed by private law and funded by the Trento Independent Provincial Council. The Research and Innovation Centre of the foundation (CRI), with more than 200 researchers, has a mission to promote and enhance land-based economy through studies and innovation that improve agricultural and environment products and enhance the quality and nutritional value of food products. It sustains environmental resources through development and promotion of low-impact agricultural practices, study and preservation of biodiversity, and characterisation of alpine and subalpine ecosystems. The centre operates fully integrated research programs and state-of-the-art platform technologies to deliver innovative solutions and competitive products for our stakeholders and end-user communities.
